It is also, of course, home of the historic Motown sound and where techno originated, with music events happening daily. Downtown Detroit’s is filled with independent boutiques and as well as national favorites including Carhartt and John Varvatos. Parker’s Alley is a repurposed alley home to unique businesses like Detroit-based Lip Bar luxury cosmetics. Detroit is also home to Jack White’s Third Man Records, where visitors can watch vinyl pressed onsite. There is something for everyone when you visit The D.
