Hagley is where the du Pont story begins in the Brandywine Valley. Located on 235 acres along the Brandywine River, Hagley is the site where the DuPont Company produced gunpowder in the 1800s. Groups tour the du Pont family home, stroll through the French garden, watch dramatic demonstrations of water powered machinery, and much more! Group lunches, behind the scenes experiences, and themed talks are available.

We are currently offering safe touring options for groups of 30 people or less. Tours include one guide per 5 people, less time spent indoors, more time enjoying our beautiful outdoor spaces, plenty of hand sanitizer, social distancing, and masks worn by all staff and guests.
