Just a few blocks from Washington, D.C.’s National Mall, ARTECHOUSE offers a new experience that stretches far beyond the traditional.
The innovative art space opened two years ago and showcases some of the world’s best experiential and immersive digital art exhibitions. The goal of ARTECHOUSE is to bridge the gap between art, technology and science.
“A visit to ARTECHOUSE is sure to be a one-of-a-kind experience,” said Josh Feldman, senior manager of group sales, tourism & meetings. “Not only do the exhibitions change throughout the year, offering a new fresh experience every season and every year — but they offer experiences that aim to inspire and educate all visitors in the limitless possibilities of the arts as they intersect with technology.”
Upon arrival, groups receive an introduction to the exhibit and ARTECHOUSE itself. Team members are present during the introduction and throughout the exhibition to assist and answer questions. The experience is self-guided.
As a way to make a group experience extra special, Feldman suggests they purchase a Private Group Package, which pairs private admission, augmented reality beverages and optional food packages into one group experience.
“We offer the nation’s first Augmented Reality Bar, fusing together technology with drinks of alcoholic and non-alcoholic variety,” Feldman said. “Our bar menu and augmented reality artwork bring the experience of a bar to the 21st century and connects back to our installations with beverages inspired by our artwork on view.”
ARTECHOUSE can typically accommodate groups of 50–75 people at one time. The amount of space available varies with each exhibition.
This fall’s exhibit (Sept. 13–Nov. 17) will allow visitors to choreograph their experiences. The seasonal holiday exhibition will be on display Nov. 21, 2019–Jan. 5, 2020. Early next year (Jan. 16–March 8) ARTECHOUSE will feature an immersive audiovisual exhibition composing light and imagery together. The Annual Cherry Blossom Spring Show will run March 19–May 31, 2020.
“Group leaders can request to sign up for a groups newsletter at firstname.lastname@example.org, which goes out monthly and includes insider information on future exhibitions and group info,” Feldman said.
