Colorado Jeep Tours, based in Canon City, offers scenic and informative tours of the Royal Gorge region. While navigating some of the most scenic roads and trails in Colorado, interpretive tours focus on western history, geology and even paleontology.

“Our most popular tour is the Royal Gorge Half Day Jeep Tour, which provides over 3½ hours of off-road Jeep fun,” said Susie Atherton, director of operations. “It includes driving over the Royal Gorge Bridge and complimentary Royal Gorge Bridge & Park admission tickets.”

In addition to riding 1,000 feet above the Arkansas River on the highest suspension bridge in North America, guests learn about local history, flora and fauna, and other Colorado facts. Groups can return to the park after their Jeep tour to walk the bridge, ride the gondola over the gorge and visit other park attractions.

“Our Jeep tours offer a fun and interesting way to see and learn about this beautiful region of south-central Colorado, and they are enjoyed by people of all ages,” Atherton said.

Each tour offers its own unique scenery. Some tours take groups along the rim of the famous Royal Gorge, while other tours explore the bright red monoliths of Red Canyon Park. Colorado Jeep Tours also can take groups on a Gold Belt Tour through the late 1800s mining districts of Cripple Creek and Victor.

“We’ve partnered with the best attractions in the area to show you the best the Royal Gorge region has to offer,” Atherton said. “Consider packaging your half-day Jeep tour with a ride on the Royal Gorge Route Railroad through the Royal Gorge, whitewater rafting or wine tasting.

“By calling the Colorado Jeep Tours reservations office or by visiting the company’s website, tour operators can book complete multi-day and multi-adventure itineraries at the same retail prices as booking with our partners,” she said.
