The Myrtle Beach area of South Carolina is known for its wide sandy beaches and even wider variety of options to keep groups entertained. Planners can create the perfect tour that offers something for everyone. In an area where motorcoach parking is a breeze, take advantage of seven live entertainment theaters, thrilling amusement parks, beautiful sculpture gardens, and an assortment of other activities. Pick your style of shopping at one of three area malls, two factory outlet centers, a multitude of fabulous boutiques, and the newest urban village, Market Common. Don’t forget the activity that keeps folks fueled for fun. Dining on the Grand Strand is easy. The difficult part is choosing from hundreds of fine restaurants offering a variety of fare.

A great location, mild climate, and unrivaled attractions are just a few of the qualities that make the Myrtle Beach area the perfect setting for any kind of gathering. Whether you’re planning a family reunion, motorcoach group tour, music festival/performance soiree, student group outing, sports group event, or reuniting with fellow retired military friends, the Myrtle Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau team invites tour planners to organize their next group get-together with members of the team.

As one of the greatest assets of the Myrtle Beach area, the weather offers mild winters and bearable summer temperatures. With an average high of 57 degrees in the coldest month of January and an average high of 90 degrees in the hottest month of July, it is rarely too cold, or too hot, to enjoy everything Myrtle Beach offers.

Shows and Entertainment

Myrtle Beach theaters are the perfect complement to a wonderful beach vacation! Since 1986, when Calvin Gilmore and The Carolina Opry pioneered the Myrtle Beach area’s theater boom, the area has emerged as a hot spot for live family entertainment—offering the best in shows, music, dance, comedy, dinner theater, celebrity concerts, and movies. Allow The Myrtle Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau to be your guide to the many available outlets of entertainment on The Grand Strand.

Many of the theaters offer behind-the-scenes tours, spotlight interviews, and preshow performance opportunities.

New this year is the Myrtle Beach Arts & Gallery Trail. The Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum is one of more than 100 locations found on the digital trail, which was created by the Myrtle Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau in partnership with the museum and The Arts Grand Strand, a nonprofit organization devoted to promoting events related to the arts. Locations include galleries, sculptures, and some of the area’s more unusual public art displays, like a mural that flanks an underground passageway and critter statues found throughout the city of Conway. Users can access the trail on their mobile device to map out each location and check in upon arrival to earn points that may be redeemed for prizes.

Work is underway to create a new Arts and Innovation District in the heart of Myrtle Beach! The area includes Main Street, Broadway Street, Oak Street, and Ninth Avenue North. Buildings along Ninth Avenue North may be the first to redevelop, with plans already underway for a co-work and events space.
