A New York City live entertainment experience produced by THE RIDE is set to premiere July 12. Called EYES ON NEW YORK, this “off the bus” show is being held at Empire Outlets on Staten Island.
Produced and directed by Richard Humphrey, CEO of THE RIDE, EYES ON NEW YORK is choreographed by the project’s artistic directors, Ashlee Rose Montague and Richard Hankes.
The 60-minute show will take place in a newly created,150-seat performance space designed, built and overseen by Humphrey.
“After 16 months of isolation, audiences are venturing out and seeking the joy and community of theater reinvented,” Humphrey said. “We are proud to meet the challenge of this goal with EYES ON NEW YORK and THE RIDE’s critically acclaimed storytelling skills and gifted performers!”
In an empty retail space overlooking New York Harbor, THE RIDE – On Location team of Hankes and Montague in association with Humphrey, who is also THE RIDE’s chief creative officer, have designed and installed a fully imagined performance space with raised stage, LED theatrical lighting and surround sound and using THE RIDE’s proprietary EDP platform.
EYES ON NEW YORK pushes the theatrical boundaries and possibilities of THE RIDE’S proprietary experiential technology, which was perfected on the company’s special motorcoaches.
The exclusive summer residency at Empire Outlets includes original music, whimsical variety and circus-based performances.
EYES ON NEW YORK is a focused immersive initiative and experiential entertainment that will bow four times a day.
Performances are scheduled through Sept. 6. 2021.
The show is described as an interactive journey presented in theatrical dance, variety acts, acrobatic agility and circus derring-do. A troupe of internationally acclaimed performers dance the story of New York City’s roller-coaster journey through the last 16 months.
According to Humphrey, the show is drenched in music, uplifted by dance and driven by renewal.
“THE RIDE is an iconic entertainment experience, and we are thrilled to host the show’s return to New York City at Empire Outlets,” said Joseph Ferrara, principal, BFC Partners. “The show is a spectacular addition to the new offerings we are introducing at Empire Outlets this summer.”
“THE RIDE is deeply appreciative and artistically energized by Empire Outlet’s warm welcome,” Humphrey said. “Teaming up together, we will keep our eyes on New York to establish The RIDE at Empire Outlets as one of New York’s 2021 premier destinations during this summer of renewal.”
