WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., — Discover The Palm Beaches (DTPB) — the official DMO for Palm Beach County — in partnership with Travelport launched a new incentive program earlier this month for travel agencies and agents that plan business and travel in The Palm Beaches.

Travelport is a global distribution system (GDS) travel technology company.

“We are thrilled to have launched this commission-based incentive program with The Palm Beaches,” said Anna Au-Yeung, Travelport’s global head of destination marketing. “Our long-standing partnership with the largest county southeast of the Mississippi River makes the destination an ideal target for us to help drive tourism.”

The initiative focuses on agents based in Florida and the neighboring states Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Texas and Louisiana. Agencies and agents utilizing Travelport reservation systems will automatically be eligible for an additional 3% commission when booking business to Palm Beach County hotels. This offer is available through November 30, 2020.

DTPB is the first partner DMO to provide such a substantial commission-based incentive in the nation, according to Travelport.

“This exciting GDS partnership will elevate the destination’s visibility more than years past,” said Erick Garnica, DTPB’s senior director of leisure travel industry sales. “It will drive continued business to area hotels, boost the local economy and serve as a way to show appreciation to our valued travel consultants working especially hard during these challenging times.”
