America’s River Roots will host the nation’s first celebration of America’s 250th birthday, scheduled for Oct. 8-12, 2025, in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

Set along the banks of the Ohio River, the festival will honor the significant role river cities have played in shaping the nation. America’s River Roots will highlight the unique cultures, flavors, and sounds of these communities, offering an experience groups will love. Activities include river cruises with lunch, brunch, and dinner, as well as races, parades, and sightseeing aboard one of 10 historic and majestic riverboats.

One standout event is a Mardi Gras-inspired cruise aboard the Steamboat Natchez, featuring a feast of jambalaya, crawfish étouffée, and the lively sounds of the Dukes of Dixieland. For a taste of Kentucky, attendees can savor Bourbon BBQ Brisket aboard the Belle of Louisville, a National Historic Landmark and the last remaining authentic steamboat from the American packet boat era. With a variety of options representing America’s great river cities, groups are guaranteed a memorable time along the Ohio River.
