NEW YORK, Ny. — The Empire State Building’s (ESB) famous Observatory is set to reopen on July 20. ESB recalled all of its employees this week for training on new safety guidelines and protocols.

“Our decade’s long commitment to Indoor Environmental Quality is accompanied by new protocols and employee training which will comply with government requirements,” said Anthony E. Malkin, chairman, president and CEO of Empire State Realty Trust. “Visits will initially be limited to below New York State’s Phase 4 capacity guidelines, and we will prevent crowds through a shift to timed, online reservations only.

To prepare for the welcoming back of visitors, Empire State Realty Trust implemented their Indoor Environmental Quality standards to the redeveloped Observatory. These improvements include MERV 13 air filters, AtmosAir air purification and continuous ventilation.
