ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. — New “Exclusive Experiences in Rockland County, NY” group tour packages are now offered by the Rockland County Office of Tourism specifically for Chinese visitors to upstate New York.

The themed getaways are designed for receptive group tour operators based in the United States seeking new destinations in the lower Hudson Valley. A few of the itineraries include: Taste of Springtime; Lights, Camera, Action; Revealing Rivertowns; and Superb Scenery & Selfie Spots.

Just 30 miles from New York City, Rockland County is home to the Palisades Center, (one of the largest shopping malls in the U.S.), the Garner Arts Center, Torne Valley Vineyards, public parks with breathtaking Hudson River views, and several movie and TV filming locations. The Exclusive Experiences packages include these popular destinations, but offer groups a “behind-the-scenes” tour, special pricing, or other offers not available to the general public.

Offered through December 2019, each escape is presented as a single-day or overnight trip for groups of 10 or more, and includes discounts on accommodations, dining and attraction fees. Seasonal activities are also incorporated, such as ice skating, apple picking and taking in the area’s fall foliage.

“We invite visitors from China to explore New York just beyond the big city,” said Lucy Redzeposki, Rockland County’s director of economic growth and tourism. “These itineraries provide experiences unique to this area — and in most cases, experiences that have been created exclusively for groups.”

The packages were coordinated by BBG&G Advertising, Inc. as part of a bilingual welcome campaign — now in its fourth year — to promote inbound leisure visitation and capitalize on the year-round influx of Chinese tourists visiting nearby New York City.
