The National Tour Association (NTA) has announced a contract extension for Catherine Prather, CTP, to continue serving as the organization’s president for an additional three years. The NTA board formally approved the extension prior to last month’s Travel Exchange convention in Ottawa, Ontario. Prather’s distinguished service since taking the helm in January 2020 made the extension something of a formality, says NTA board chair Monique van Dijk-Seppola.
“Catherine is a remarkable leader, and the NTA community has prospered from her strategic guidance and innovative spirit,” says van Dijk-Seppola, in a prepared statement. “She navigated the association through the COVID pandemic, one of the most challenging and destabilizing periods in the travel industry’s history, and today, NTA stands out as a genuine community of productive professionals—united by a shared commitment to meaningful travel and a strong drive to expand the organization’s global reach.”
Prather first joined NTA in 1994, and in her career has also served on boards such as the U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board and the Tourism Cares Board of Directors. A survey earlier in 2025 indicated that 96% of NTA members were satisfied with their membership and 99% were satisfied “with the professionalism, knowledge, and helpfulness of the NTA staff.” The credit for that goes to Prather, said van Dijk-Seppola.
“I’m proud to work for the best people in the travel industry and honored by the board’s faith in our work,” Prather said. “With the support of our members, the board, and our headquarters team, I’m eager to explore new paths to success for the NTA community.”
