Starting Dec. 24, the Visit Springfield Visitors Center in Illinois will be temporary relocated as the Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices undergo renovations. Until renovations are complete, Visit Springfield will welcome and assist visitors at the Convention & Visitors Bureau Administration Office located at 109 N. 7th St., open Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
“While we are disappointed to temporarily lose our prime location, we are very excited for our partners at the state, as this renovation will reopen the law office for formal tours in the future,” says Darrin Thurman, Visit Springfield’s tourism manager, in a prepared statement. “Please be assured that our commitment to providing exceptional service remains unchanged, and the Visitors Center will continue to operate during our usual business hours with all staff contact details remaining the same.”
He notes that there is no estimated time frame on when Visit Springfield will return to its original location.
For more information, Thurman can be contacted at 217-789-2360, ext. 5535, or at darrin.thurman@springfield.il.us. For additional assistance, the Lincoln Home Visitors Center, Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, and Capitol Complex Visitors Center are all available for assisting visitors.
