In the heart of the nation’s capital, the National Air and Space Museum is a treasure trove of aviation and space artifacts that celebrates humanity’s quest for the skies. From the Wright brothers’ first powered airplane to Neil Armstrong’s Apollo 11 spacesuit, the museum’s collection spans centuries of innovation and discovery. Visitors can marvel at the iconic spacecraft and aircraft that have shaped our understanding of the universe, while dozens of exhibits and immersive experiences—such as a newly renovated planetarium—bring the wonder of flight to life. With a commitment to education, inspiration, and exploration, the National Air and Space Museum invites guests to embark on a journey of discovery that spans the heavens above.

Reach for the Stars

In the Lone Star State, Space Center Houston invites visitors to embark on a journey of discovery unlike any other. As the official visitor center for NASA’s Johnson Space Center, this dynamic complex offers a glimpse into the inner workings of America’s space exploration programs. Guests can walk through lighted panels that tell the story of Artemis, NASA’s space program that will return humans to the moon for the first time in over 50 years. Or they can explore the artifacts and exhibits that tell the story of human spaceflight, including the historic “Mission Control” to the iconic “Skylab Trainer.”

With hands-on activities, educational films and presentations, and the opportunity to meet astronauts, Space Center Houston provides a truly immersive experience that brings the wonders of space closer to home. “We inspire our guests to connect with the significance of space exploration, to pursue their own path in space, or simply follow along as incredible feats of human spaceflight continue to bring joy and wonder to the world,” says William T. Harris, president and CEO of Space Center Houston. Tram and VIP tours are also available.

At the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, visitors can explore the many groundbreaking achievements that have moved humanity forward. As the largest science museum in the Western Hemisphere, hands-on exhibits, interactive demonstrations, and unique artifacts—including the historic Pioneer Zephyr train and the Apollo 8 spacecraft—inspire curiosity and sparks the imagination of tourgoers of all ages. Plus, flight and motion simulators transport visitors to other-worldly experiences through the Milky Way galaxy, on an Endeavour space mission, and more. Whether marveling at the feats of modern engineering or reliving the triumphs of the past, the Museum of Science and Industry is a testament to the power of innovation and exploration.

In Los Angeles, the California Science Center is home to the iconic Space Shuttle Endeavour, a symbol of America’s pioneering spirit and determination. As one of NASA’s most storied shuttles, Endeavour embarked on 25 missions, including the historic mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope. Though the Endeavour is not on display and is currently undergoing the complex process of moving and lifting each of the space shuttle components into place for its upcoming awe-inspiring 20-story vertical display, the California Science Center offers a wide variety of programming and permanent exhibits for all ages. “Humans in Space” gives an up-close look at spacesuits and spacecraft to discover some of the ways astronauts protect themselves from the harsh environment of space or discover the kinds of information telescopes collect in “Stars & Telescopes.”
