DISCOVER MUSEUM CITY
Filled with history and authentic charm, and conveniently located on Interstate 75 just 40 miles from Atlanta, Cartersville, Georgia, is perhaps best known by another name: Museum City. Cartersville is home to several world-class museums such as the Savoy Automobile Museum, dedicated to connecting people to the cultural diversity of the automobile. With five rotating galleries, curated exhibits and custom artwork, the experience is always changing. Groups can plan their itinerary around one of Savoy’s many special automotive-themed programs, like trivia night, movie night, or a sip-and-paint. Savoy also has a cafe, so groups can enjoy a “Meal Under the Wheel.”
A Smithsonian-affiliated museum and the largest of its kind, the Booth Western Art Museum allows visitors to “See America’s Story” in paintings, sculptures, photography, artifacts, and its Presidential gallery. Docent-led tours are available, whether it’s the “Modern West Tour,” a sculpture or special exhibit tour, or one that is customized to the group’s interests. Special programs include an Artist’s Lunch & Learn or the annual West Fest.
Located on a 50-acre park-like campus, Tellus Science Museum is a world-class Smithsonian affiliate designed for visitors of all ages. Tellus features six main galleries, a 4K digital planetarium offering multiple daily shows, a hands-on fossil dig and gem panning area, and an observatory. With experiential exhibits and stunning artifacts like an 80-foot-long brontosaurus, a replica Wright flyer, and an amethyst geode weighing 2 metric tons, your groups won’t want to miss it. A brand-new addition opened in fall 2025 featuring the “Replaced by the Smartphone” exhibit, as well as rotating exhibits like “Journey to Space.”
JOURNEY THROUGH HISTORY

Showcasing 19 sites, the African American Heritage Trail takes visitors on a powerful journey through culture and community. Featuring sites like Noble Hill-Wheeler Memorial Center, a former Rosenwald School; the Euharlee Covered Bridge, built by famed Black American bridge builders; and Queens Chapel Memorial Church, resting place of Melvinia Shields, great-great-great grandmother of former first lady Michelle Obama; the trail connects Museum City to the broader American story. It’s an unforgettable way to experience history, culture, and community woven together in Museum City.
