Groups will learn about the state’s early history, its unique cave systems and natural geography, and stories from the Civil War, including an examination of Confederate General John Morgan’s raids above the Mason-Dixon Line. Speaking of the area’s unique cave systems, groups should check out the nearby Indiana Caverns. Take a walking tour of the state’s longest cave, which also is home to one of the Midwest’s largest deposits of Ice Age bones. The tour takes groups past an underground river, a 40-foot waterfall, and spectacular natural rock formations.
MARVEL
Corydon is home to the second-oldest, family-operated studio glass factory in the U.S. At the Zimmerman Art Glass factory, marvel at stunning glass creations, crafted through techniques passed down through the Zimmerman family over the past 78 years. If your group is visiting during the winter holidays, reserve a time for a glassblowing ornament workshop led by a master blower.

Schedule a tour and tasting at Turtle Run Winery, located just outside of Corydon. The owners, Jim and Laura Pfeiffer, take a hands-on approach to running the winery, and travelers are likely to find these knowledgeable and friendly proprietors either manning the bar or leading the tours themselves. This homegrown experience is as relaxing as it is educational as groups learn the ins and outs of sublime winemaking and survey the rolling hills of southern Indiana.
