DISCOVER LINCOLN
Lincoln is known for being a “big, small city,” because while it has the amenities of a bigger metro area, it still has the small-town feel when it comes to hospitality and ease of getting around to see the sites around the community. Lincoln is host to many sporting events, concerts, attractions, and museums that capture unique interests from all over the world and offers literally hundreds of choices for where to eat, sleep, work, shop, relax, and play.

Consider starting with one of the most iconic landmarks of the Cornhusker State: the Nebraska State Capitol. Constructed from 1922 to 1932 for $10 million, the building is described as the nation’s first truly vernacular state capitol. Visible from miles away, the majestic 400-foot domed tower and low-spreading base contain mosaics and sculptures representing the natural, social, and political development of Nebraska. Perfectly suited for groups, tours are available Monday through Saturday.

EXPLORE THE HISTORY
The Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed is much more than a car collection. It’s a celebration of the quest for speed that has captivated millions of Americans since the dawn of the automobile. From rare automobiles to race-winning vehicles, pedal cars, and other items from automotive lore, there is something for groups of all sizes to enjoy and marvel at. The museum is available for special tours and events by prior arrangement. They can accommodate meetings and dinners with seating for up to 200 people.

Groups can view quilts from around the world and across generations at the International Quilt Museum, located on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s East Campus. Containing the world’s largest collection of publicly owned quilts, this one-of-a-kind experience offers tours, education, and workshops to learn about quilt making traditions passed down through the years with rotating collections on display. The global collection includes more than 5,000 quilts that date back to as early as the 1700s, representing 50 different countries.
