ADVENTURE

The Land of 10,000 Lakes—otherwise known as Minnesota—loves its parks. Find a park in Minnesota and a body of water, be it river or lake, is likely nearby. In Brooklyn Park, there are 60 public parks—some 2,000 acres of parkland—to visit along the Mississippi River. Among them also are 120 miles of trails to explore, where your group members can enjoy Mother Nature’s handiwork. Experience scenic views at the observation trail at Coon Rapids Dam located at Mississippi Gateway Regional Park, for instance, or follow more than 2 miles of trails along the banks of the Mississippi River. Multiple golf courses exist in the area as well, among them Edinburgh USA, popular for its 17th hole that has an island fairway and a peninsula for a green. According to Explore Minnesota, it has the biggest putting green in the U.S.

EAT

With more than 90 restaurants, it’s a sure bet your group members won’t go hungry in Brooklyn Park. Besides more common food fare, there are places such as Cajun Deli, which offers scrumptious portions of catfish, crab, crawfish, shrimp, and more. For Asian cuisine, check out China Bowl, China Hope, China Star, and Dragon Star Supermarket, among many others. For other cultural dishes, there’s El Loro (Mexican), Milah’s Royal Bistro (African), Mi-Sant Banh Mi (Vietnamese), and Miyabi Grill (Japanese).

LEARN

History buffs will enjoy the Historic Eidem Farm, a living history site that allows guests to experience farm life and explore nature on the 19-acre property. The farm was a working site from 1905 to 1920, and today is a family-friendly place where visitors can learn about the farm’s rich cultural history, explore the gardens, and interact with the animals. In autumn, Brooklyn Park hosts the Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze, which features a car show, farm market, pumpkin patch, and more.
