HEED NATURE’S CALL

With Cody’s proximity to two Yellowstone National Park entrances (Eastern and Northeastern), a visit is practically a must. The oldest national park in the country, Yellowstone offers nearly 3,500 square miles of hiking trails, geothermal marvels, waterfalls, and forests, with large populations of wolves, grizzly bears, bison, and elk calling the park home. See the famous Old Faithful geyser, the vibrantly colored Grand Prismatic Spring (the largest hot spring in the U.S.), and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone carved by the Yellowstone River.

EXPLORE LEGACIES

Explore the heritage of the American West at places like the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, home to five different museums that detail the cultural, artistic, and natural history of the region. The Heart Mountain Interpretive Center preserves what remains of a Japanese American confinement site from World War II, telling the stories of those unjustly incarcerated there. Step back into the 1890s at Old Trail Town and discover the legacy of homesteading at the Homesteader Museum.

EAT WELL

Take a beat after a day of nature walks or museum tours at any one of Cody’s standout local culinary destinations, including the restaurant at Buffalo Bill’s Irma Hotel, known for its prime rib and steaks. Indulge in fine-dining ambience at Cody Steakhouse, or opt for a classic chuckwagon dinner with 2 Mules Chuckwagon at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. For something sweet, The Bigg Chill serves up a selection of artisan ice cream flavors, and for an Old West saloon experience, consider Annie’s Soda Saloon & Cafe with its lineup of cane-sugar sodas and decadent pies.
