SIP & SHOP

Located on the Long Island Sound midway between New Haven and New York City, Stamford is a perfect spot for groups traversing Interstate 95 to stop for the afternoon or stay for a day to shop, savor, and socialize! Step into Humbled Coffeehouse for handcrafted beverages and artisan bakery treats. The space shares a wall with House of Humbled, which carries a curated array of products to explore while you sip, ranging from clothing and jewelry to home goods, pantry items, gift items, and decor.

SAVOR

Spend happy hour along the water at the Beer Garden at Shippan Landing. With a rotating roster of local brews on tap, this outdoor oasis invites travelers to sip and savor. Colony Pizza originated in Stamford and is nationally known. Definitely try the Hot Oil pie! Several Stamford eateries were featured on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives,” including Corbo’s Deli and Kouzina, a Greek-style taverna with a coastal vibe.

EXPLORE

Cove Island Park is a recognized Audubon sanctuary where 50 species of butterflies and 309 species of birds call home. Further inland, the 389-acre forest located at Mianus River Park offers miles of hiking trails, while the remains of Fort Stamford resonate with history buffs interested in the American Revolution.

Visitors to the Stamford Museum & Nature Center can enjoy programs in the former home of 1920s fashion designer Henri Bendel. Inside, detailed lead glass windows, graceful archways, and the elegant Great Hall form the backdrop for the exhibition galleries while sculptures grace the dazzling grounds and fountains of the Italianate gardens. The museum’s “Nights Out” social programs for adults will continue well into the evening hours thanks to the new Planetarium and Astronomy Center set to open in the spring.
