An outdoor enthusiast’s dream, Whitefish is a mountain town in northwestern Montana located about 25 miles from Glacier National Park and 60 miles from the Canadian border. Whitefish Mountain Resort is a popular wintertime skiing and snowboarding destination with more than 300 inches of annual snow and 3,000 acres of skiable terrain. Since 1979, Dog Sled Adventures has been taking visitors on scenic adventures through the backcountry wilderness on sleds pulled by Alaskan huskies. For 20 years, the city has held its annual Whitefish Skijoring Event, celebrating the winter sport in which horses pull a person on skis.

Whitefish is home to a thriving arts scene with a community of talented artists and events including the Whitefish Arts Festival, which is held over Fourth of July weekend and showcases artists and craftspeople across different mediums. On the first Thursday of each month throughout summer and fall, Whitefish Gallery Nights feature artist exhibits and entertainment at local galleries. Catch a performance at Whitefish Theatre Co., a nonprofit community-based performing arts organization that puts on various shows throughout the year.
