Billings is the gateway to Yellowstone’s most scenic route, the Beartooth Highway. Reaching a peak of 10,977 feet through the pass, groups will experience Montana’s highest mountain range with 20 peaks over 12,000 feet.

Montana’s only walkable brewery trail— the Billings Brew Trail —is located in the heart of downtown Billings. This self-guided tour is made up of six breweries, two distilleries and one cider house, all within easy walking distance. Take this 1½-mile brewery route and enjoy historic sites along with award-winning craft beverages.

Within an hour of Billings is Pompeys Pillar National Monument. Pompeys Pillar is the only remaining physical evidence of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, where William Clark inscribed his name in 1806. Enjoy bird watching and visit the Interpretive Center to see the concrete Riverwalk beginning in the parking lot extending to the Pillar’s base.

The sandstone bluffs surrounding the city are known as the Rimrocks and are estimated to be at least 70 million years old.
