When it comes to planning group travel across Canada and the United States, the Ontario Motor Coach Association (OMCA) and Motor Coach Canada (MCC) stand out as industry leaders. As nonprofit associations, they specialize in intercity and chartered motor coach travel, providing comprehensive support to bus operators, tour operators, and various group-friendly suppliers, including destinations, attractions, and accommodations across the U.S. and Canada.
A must-visit within the group travel industry, the OMCA Marketplace event is a hub for tour operators seeking new products, whether they are based in Canada or the United States. Canadian operators can explore extensive U.S. offerings, while U.S. operators can discover an array of Canadian products. Additionally, tourism suppliers from both sides of the border find the event invaluable for attracting more group travel to their destinations.
The OMCA Marketplace is renowned not just for its business opportunities but also for its friendly and efficient atmosphere. The event’s intimate size ensures all delegates can easily engage in conversations, fostering strong networking opportunities. A notable highlight is the high-quality food provided, with substantial breakfasts and lunches that keep attendees energized throughout the day.
A Buyer Incentive Program is also offered to tour operators who attend OMCA Marketplace, making it particularly appealing. This program, in collaboration with Destination Ontario, includes free registration, complimentary hotel stays, and travel credits for OMCA member buyers, further reducing the cost of participation.
The 2024 OMCA Marketplace is set to be held November 4-6 in Windsor, Ontario, conveniently located near Detroit, Michigan. This location emphasizes the ease and value of cross-border group tourism, with OMCA and MCC working closely with their U.S. counterparts to prioritize the industry’s needs.
In addition to the Marketplace, OMCA has launched the “Everybody Needs More Canada” mobile game, available from June to November. Participants can engage in various challenges and win prizes, with enhanced rewards for those attending the Marketplace. The game is accessible to everyone, offering a fun and interactive way to explore Canadian group travel options.
The OMCA Marketplace has also adjusted its schedule to ensure attendees can maximize their time without infringing on personal weekends. The event runs from Monday to Thursday morning, featuring evening networking events, all-delegate meals, and providing a well-rounded experience for all participants.
