The nostalgia is palpable as you walk the storied streets of Corydon. Established in 1808, the town served as Indiana’s first state capital. Today, that same historic charm permeates the downtown.
Peek into the past by touring the beloved capitol building and governor’s headquarters. Or immerse yourself in the area’s wildlife, natural science, and history with interactive displays at the Harrison County Discovery Center. Then settle in for a 360-degree projection portraying the only Civil War battle fought on Indiana soil, the Battle of Corydon.

Shopping in southern Indiana is a charming experience. With many eclectic vendors where you can learn crafts like jewelry making and wood carving. Antique shops are very popular in the historic downtown Corydon shopping district, and the belle of the antique store ball is the Red Barn Antique Mall. This store houses over 6,000 feet of antiques on three floors. If you can’t find it here, it doesn’t exist!

Below the rolling hills, majestic forests and winding Blue River lies a secretive network of caverns and caves just waiting to be explored at Indiana Caverns, Marengo Cave, Squire Boone Caverns and Wyandotte Cave.
Guided tours take you deep into our greatest natural treasure where groups can walk alongside underground streams, investigate captivating cave formations, discover fossils, and observe fascinating plant and animal life hundreds of feet below the earth’s surface.

Groups can visit multiple wineries nestled throughout the lush foothills of Harrison County. Visitors are invited for tastings, tours, concerts or conversation with a fellow wine enthusiast, and all are within a 30-minute drive. Scenic Indiana State Road 62 connects many of the wineries and is a beautiful way to experience the scenery and small-town charm of the area.
