Coshocton, Ohio, is the one and only Coshocton in the world! Nestled in the Appalachian foothills, it offers stunning landscapes, rich resources, and a deep historical heritage on display at places like the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum, found in the Historic Roscoe Village in Coshocton. Home to a wide variety of cross-cultural exhibits and collections, the museum features artifacts from historic and progressive Ohio, Native American tribes, and even across the globe.

Roscoe Village is a restored canal town. Walking down North Whitewoman Street, one is taken back in time with the town’s charming atmosphere. Along the street are a variety of shops, several restaurants, and many opportunities to dive into the history of Roscoe Village, including customized tours for groups. A ride on the horse-drawn Monticello III canal boat lends itself to an enjoyable and historical experience for all ages. Found near Roscoe Village, this boat ride is a unique experience that takes one back to the 1800s. 

GET HANDS-ON

Get up-close with the makers of Coshocton. Making award-winning cheeses since 1928, Pearl Valley Cheese is a well-known manufacturer of cheese located in Coshocton County. One can watch the cheese-making process and learn more about the dairy industry, and shop at the on-site retail store.

Found in West Lafayette, Raven’s Glenn Winery & Restaurant is one of many acclaimed wineries in Coshocton County. At Raven’s Glenn, one can enjoy a variety of wines in the tasting room, or wine-and-dine in the riverside restaurant or in a private space for your group. Tours of the wine-making operation are also available. A more recent addition to Coshocton’s attractions, the Wooly Pig Farm Brewery is a popular venue, situated on a working mangalitsa pig farm. This family-owned operation brews beer in the Bavarian tradition, and the brewmaster, Kevin Ely is an enthusiastic speaker!

MMS Aviation is a one-of-a kind world-class operation whose mission is to prepare people and airplanes for worldwide missionary service. Visitors will see a variety of aircraft being repaired and restored and hear the stories about how the planes came to be in need of repairs.

WANDER

Clary Gardens, located near Roscoe Village, is home to 20 acres of botanical horticulture. Open with free admission to the public, the gardens’ aim is to share historical and agricultural knowledge with adults and children alike. Its outdoor amphitheater is an especially popular venue, hosting a variety of events ranging from weddings to theatrical performances.

Schumaker Farms, found in West Lafayette, provides agricultural produce, year-round catering services, and fall activities. Its outdoor shelter, accommodating approximately 200 guests, is a popular place for all sorts of gatherings. Located near the city of Coshocton, the Golden Sky Farm boasts a wide selection of flowers, and farm tours are available.

Located in the heart of Coshocton is the Coshocton County Courthouse and its surrounding court square. Built in 1875, this distinctive building marks the center of Coshocton’s inviting downtown area. On the court square are a variety of historical monuments, as well as a gazebo that hosts all kinds of performances and local events. Tours and talks are available by local historians or the Clerk of Courts.
