DRIVE
Home to 33 miles of history and unique stops, Pulaski County is a great place for groups to explore and participate in guided tours along Route 66. Along the historic route, tourgoers will come across the World War II-era boomtown of St. Robert, where guests can picnic at George M. Reed Roadside Park, one of the only remaining original roadside parks on Route 66 in Missouri and home to a real-life M-60 tank that commemorates the influence of Fort Leonard Wood. In Waynesville, groups can visit attractions like Frog Rock, a painted geological formation; the 1903 Courthouse Museum, one of only two period courthouses on the Missouri stretch of the Mother Road; and the Old Stagecoach Stop. Further along, groups can visit the crumbling Spring Valley Court, admire the abandoned giraffe-rock Gascozark Service Station and Cafe, or take a boat trip down the Gasconade River.
VIEW
For a breathtaking scenic experience, bring your group to the 1923 steel truss Devils Elbow Bridge, which crosses the Big Piney River. The area’s striking landscape boasts 200-foot bluffs and a dense canopy of overhanging trees. For more unforgettable sightseeing, stop by the Scenic Overlook in the Grandview neighborhood slightly west of Devils Elbow. Here, groups will find a picturesque view of a railroad bridge settled in the Ozark valley below. Looking for a different kind of view? St. Robert is now home to the Route 66 Neon Park, an open-air museum located in the George M. Reed Roadside Park that showcases refurbished neon sides from various points along the Missouri stretch of Route 66.
TASTE
Treat your group to the flavors of the Ozarks at Uranus Fudge Factory, a fun and eclectic fudge and gift shop sure to delight visitors of all ages. Enjoy South Korean cuisine at Bulgogi. The taco lovers of your group will be thrilled to explore Pulaski’s Taco Trail, featuring restaurants in St. Robert, Waynesville, and Dixon. Participating restaurants include Route 66 Taco & Wing Co., Cancun Mexican Grill, El Centenario, and Avion Mexican Kitchen.
