The mysteries of space have captivated us since the dawn of time. From tales of early astronomers to the inspiring missions from NASA, we’ve looked at the sky throughout time with wonder and curiosity. Now more than ever before, technology has evolved and allowed us to catch a glimpse of what it is like to reach the stars. Now, Midland Center for the Arts in Michigan is bringing that wonder to the Great Lakes Bay Region through an experience that will transport you to the far reaches of the cosmos—without ever leaving the ground.
“The Infinite” is the culmination of years of collaboration between Felix & Paul Studios, TIME Studios, and NASA. The experience is based on the Primetime Emmy Award-winning series “Space Explorers: The ISS Experience,” the world’s biggest media project ever filmed in space. This project is a testament to the power of storytelling and technology, bringing together cinematic excellence and real-life space exploration in a way that has never been done before. To date, it remains the largest immersive exhibition about space exploration.
“Audiences no longer only have to watch stories about human spaceflight,” says Felix Lajeunesse, co-founder of Felix & Paul Studios and chief creative officer of “Space Explorers: The Infinite.” “We can really make them feel like participants so they can experience an astronaut’s journey from within.”
After captivating audiences across the globe, “The Infinite” is making its way to the tri-state area for an exclusive engagement at Midland Center for the Arts in January 2025. The center is excited present a mesmerizing immersive experience that will allow their patrons to step into the shoes of an astronaut and explore the International Space Station.
Through virtual reality, you’ll be transported 250 miles above Earth in and out of the International Space Station. This voyage offers more than mere observation; it immerses us in the essence of space exploration without ever leaving the ground. From exclusive encounters with real astronauts like Christina Koch to serene moments of Earth-gazing with the overview effect, this experience allows viewers to become an astronaut for an hour.
