TOUR
If your group is game for discovering unique off-the-beaten-path attractions, Nettle Meadow Goat Cheese Farm and Artisan Cheese Company should be the first stop. This local farm located just North of Lake George Village in the town of Johnsburg is currently home to more than 300 goats, dozens of sheep, llamas and a variety of other sanctuary animals. Stop by this quaint and historical farm to say “hi” to new feathered and furred farm friends and meet the owners, Sheila and Lorrain. Sample and buy their organic, award winning cheeses as you learn their story of devotion to the farm and the cheese making way of life.
EXPLORE
Oscar’s Adirondack Smokehouse is a cherished gem for its fabulous meats, cheeses, mustard and hand-made food products and is loved by the locals and food celebrities like Rachael Ray. (Rachael is a local as well — for part of the year!) Stop by Oscar’s for some take-home specialties from the Adirondacks before you explore the antique shops in the quaint town of Warrensburg.
CRUISE
Enjoy a champagne brunch aboard Lake George Steamboat Company’s Lac Du Saint Sacrament. The two-hour cruise will offer not only delicious food but magnificent views of “The Queen of American Lakes,” 32-mile long Lake George. The classic, steam-powered Minne Ha Ha offers shorter cruises on the hour if you are looking for a quick trip. Afterward, take a leisurely stroll along the Lake Walk on the village shoreline to work off your hearty lunch.
DISCOVER
