In Sullivan County, New York, they’re no strangers to group get-togethers. Their legendary countryside has long been a favorite destination for group getaways since the early 19th century. They once hosted half a million people at the 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair, so it’s fair to say they know a thing or two about hospitality.
Whether your group is large, small, or something in between, the area’s contemporary full-service properties, including Resorts World Catskills, The Kartrite Resort and Indoor Waterpark, Villa Roma, and YO1 Longevity Resort, are perfect if you want to be waited on hand and foot.
Smaller groups seeking more intimate environs surrounded by nature will appreciate boutique inns such as Callicoon Hills, Kenoza Hall, The Arnold House, Chatwal Lodge, Hemlock Neversink, Eldred Preserve, and Beaverkill Valley Inn.

Visit the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum and arrange a private group lesson. Or hop in a raft and float down the Upper Delaware Recreational River under the summer sun.

Summer is the most popular season in Sullivan County. However, in the spring, there are opportunities to focus on wellness and renewal both indoors and out. In winter, when Mother Nature blankets the region’s hills and valleys with snow and the lakes with ice, opportunities for outdoor adventure emerge in the form of downhill skiing, snowshoeing, and ice fishing. All second only to the warmth and good food from hoteliers who focus solely on your well-being.
Whether it’s a family reunion, a social club gathering, or just a group of friends looking to get away, Sullivan County is 90 miles from NYC and close to four international airports. Contact the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association at 1-800-882-CATS or visit sullivancatskills.com.
