The White Mountains region of New Hampshire is known for its natural attractions, dramatic mountain views, scenic train rides and aerial mountain skyrides.

Major attractions in Franconia Notch State Park are the Flume Gorge, the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway and the Old Man of the Mountain Memorial Park. The Flume Gorge is a 2-mile self-guided nature walk that includes an 800-foot-long gorge with sheer 70- to 90-foot rock walls. Other attractions are the pool, glacial boulders and covered bridges.
Climb the highest peak in the Northeast by riding The Mount Washington Cog Railway, the world’s first mountain-climbing cog railway. Brakemen give an onboard guided tour of the railway history and surrounding mountains. The railway is located in the heart of the White Mountain National Forest.
Climb aboard the Gondola Skyride at Loon Mountain Resort for spectacular views of the White Mountains. Take in the full summit experience by climbing an observation tower, hiking an interpretive nature trail and exploring a maze of cool glacial caves. Enjoy lunch and panoramic views at the Summit Café.
Conway Scenic Railroad in North Conway offers old-fashioned train rides from mid-April to December. Choose the Valley Train or the Mountaineer through scenic Crawford Notch. A two-hour dinner train is also available. Passengers are able to explore the preserved 1874 railroad yard, including the iconic station, and yard tours are available.
