The Centennial Land Run Monument commemorates the opening of the Unassigned Land in Oklahoma Territory with the Land Run of 1889. Sculptor Paul Moore captured the frenzied energy and emotion of one instant during the run. With 45 heroic-size figures of land run participants, the monument is one of the world’s largest bronze sculptures.

The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum interprets Western history, art, and culture and holds an internationally renowned collection of Western art and artifacts. The museum works to ignite young people’s curiosity with docent-facilitated tours and programs.

A student program at the American Banjo Museum includes an overview of the instrument’s history, a museum tour, a banjo craft, and an interactive banjo performance.
INVESTIGATE
The Uncover-Discover STEM Lab at the Oklahoma City Memorial & Museum teaches the lessons learned from the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building and its aftermath. Using large touch-screen tables, students work independently, then come together as a group to find solutions to their challenges—just as first responders to the Oklahoma City bombing had to work together in teams to save lives and investigate the crime. Two lessons are currently available: Structures & Waves and Forensics & Investigation.

Head to RIVERSPORT Rapids & Adventures in the Boathouse District to learn about the development of the water adventure park.
