MEMPHIS, Tn. — The addition of ten new immersive activities at Elvis Presley’s Memphis was announced by Graceland earlier this week and will help kick-off Elvis Week, occurring August 8-16.
Located across the street from Graceland Mansion, Elvis Presley’s Memphis is an entertainment and exhibit complex home to the largest collection of Elvis memorabilia in the world.
The complex’s new interactive experiences use augmented reality and virtual technology that allow visitors to become the “King or Queen of their social media” and dive into the life and fame of Elvis Presley. Each experience is included in a Graceland ticket price.
“I’ve always wanted to dress like Elvis, but never quite found the courage,” said Joel Weinshanker, Graceland holdings managing partner. “I plan to be the first in line for these socially shareable attractions.”
The “Elvis Yourself” Virtual Dress-Up Experience allows users to be virtually dressed in an iconic Elvis costume. “Can’t Help Falling in Love” AR Serenade virtually puts users onto the set of Blue Hawaii and allows them to be serenaded by Elvis. A full list of each interactive experience can be found at graceland.com.
As attendance for Elvis Week will be capped to adhere to social distancing and maximum capacity guidelines, Graceland has announced their first-ever Virtual Elvis Week, which will allow fans from around the world to participate. Virtual content will include new behind-the-scenes Graceland content, past Elvis Week concerts and panels, a live stream view of the 2020 Candlelight Vigil and so much more.
